I know what you mean. I've started to notice when drums are artificial too, but overall, I can't stand bad mixing, which is what you mostly hear in youtube vids where the musician is technically skilled, but mixed his own shit poorly.

Songs sampling breaks, and then not doing any post-production on them or any variation - breakcore becoming a huge internet/SEO thing brought the bar down a bunch imo. The twist is that the Amen break isn't the main culprit, but it's the Think break that I see the most

In most cases when people say they listen to breakcore, they are actually listening to atmospheric DNB with shitty "chops". I cannot stand it at all. I myself am not that well versed in breakcore, but I can tell when a break is not chopped. There is a lower bar of effort these days, you can throw drum loop into a song and all of a sudden you too can become a breakcore artist in the year of our lord!

The ironic thing is that sometimes, the rest of their instruments and other parts of the songs are produced in a way that masks how bad the breaks are... they're like 99% of the way there, but then don't finish it cause teh aesthetic...
